Hello friends and family,

I am excited to announce that I will be joining Team RISE for the Chicago Marathon in October 2020! I have chosen to support RISE International because I feel strongly aligned with their commitment to bring the opportunity to receive an education to thousands of children in Angola. Since 2003, they have built 183 schools, with several currently under construction, providing the opportunity for education to over 130,000 children each year. 

Education is something that I have always been very passionate about. Every child should have the chance to go to school and learn to read and write. In joining Team RISE, my primary goal would be to send at least 5 children to school by raising at least $1750 ($350 per child). My secondary goal would be to run my first full marathon. I am very excited to visit Chicago for the first time ever and take on the challenge of running 26.2 miles.
